During this Monday Night Madness Call, Amy & Karen discuss candida overgrowth; its causes, symptoms, and treatment approaches. Key topics include how candida plays a role in the microbiome but overgrowth causes issues; main symptoms like cravings, fatigue, and skin conditions; key contributing factors like too much sugar, antibiotics, and stress; and treatment strategies focused on antifungals, diet changes, probiotics, and lifestyle. The main takeaway is that candida overgrowth is very common, but there are natural ways that you can treat it through diet, supplements, detox methods and reducing stress.

Introduction to Candida's Role

Candida is a fungus that's part of the microbiome and helps regulate blood sugar, but overgrowth causes issues. It's very common now due to high sugar diets, antibiotics, toxins and stress. Children often have overgrowth issues as well.

Symptoms of Candida Overgrowth

Common symptoms include constant hunger/cravings, fatigue, brain fog, gastrointestinal problems, skin conditions, blurred vision, mood changes and more. An easy at-home spit test can detect overgrowth.

Causes and Contributing Factors

Overgrowth is caused by too much sugar and carbs, antibiotics killing off good bacteria, toxins like heavy metals, and high stress levels. Lack of good gut bacteria allows candida to spread.

What To Do About It

Management involves antifungals, probiotics, diet changes to remove sugars/grains/dairy, detox methods, reducing stress, and rebuilding gut health over time. Candex enzyme is highly recommended.
